Patricia Napier MBE - Chairman
Patricia ran an isolated rural hospital and clinics in Zambia for two years. For six years Patricia Napier was chairman of another charity working in Zambia, and she continues to visit the country regularly and to make extensive contacts. She has retired as the Chairman of Governors of Dean Close School, Cheltenham. In 2021 Patricia was awarded an MBE for her work with BZT and ZRDF.
Sarah Brunwin - Trustee
Sarah has worked as a consultant in the charity sector for more than 25 years and has a particular interest in and knowledge of NGOs working in Africa. She has visited numerous projects throughout Africa and has particular knowledge and experience in the areas of education, health, development and conservation.
Bill Dick - Hon. Treasurer
Bill is a charted quantity surveyor. He runs his own consultancy and has worked in Bulawayo for three years after qualifying. He has returned to central southern Africa many times since.
Robert Napier CBE - Trustee
After 30 years as a senior industrialist, Robert spent 8 years running The World Wildlife Fund in the UK, was then Chairman of the Board of the Homes and Communities Agency until 2017 having retired as Chairman of the Board of the Met Office. He is a Trustee of a number of other charities.
Nicky Bishop - Trustee
Nicky works in the charitable sector and has a close association and knowledge of Africa. She was Head of Corporate Fundraising at Save the Children and Director of Fundraising for WWF. She has worked in South Africa as Head of Fundraising and most recently as Chief Executive of a Children’s Hospital in Cape Town. She is now working in the UK.
Perdita Hunt OBE - Trustee
Perdita Hunt has senior experience in capital projects, governance, communications, marketing and fundraising. She has worked for NGOs in the arts, heritage and the environment and has lived in a number of African countries.
Francis Sullivan - Trustee
Francis studied the rural economy at Oxford University and then worked for nearly 20 years for WWF, initially focussing on projects in Africa aiming to conserve the local environment and support the sustainable development of local communities. From 2004 and until recently, Francis has worked at HSBC (an international bank with a strong emerging markets focus) advising them on their sustainability strategy.
Jocelyn McDermid - Trustee
Jocelyn is a senior lawyer at Pfizer, advising a number of teams focusing on access to medicines in developing countries. She has a strong interest in diversity and inclusion and is involved in a number of projects to promote gender equality in business. She has travelled throughout southern Africa and is delighted to join the outstanding team of BZT Trustees.
